Art patron Millicent Rogers settled in Taos in 1947. A stunning beauty and talented designer in her own right, she was a passionate collector and assembled a distinguished collection of Native American silver and turquoise jewelry and Navajo and Rio Grande weavings. Her collection formed the core of one of America's most important collections of Southwestern arts and design.

Harwood Museum
Founded in 1923 and operated by the Univer sity of New Mexico since 1936, the Harwood is the second oldest art museum in the state. The Permanent Collection enhances our appreciation for the centuries-old, millennium new tradition of the arts in Taos.
